From the Editor
Recent debates over the status of marriage in society highlight the tensions between secular and sacred visions of the world. In this issue we have three papers by distinguished contributors, Tina Beattie, Robert Doran and Robert Gascoigne on the competing tensions of secularization and sacralisation in church and society. Anthony Kelly shifts our attention to the theme of the environment, the focus of Pope Francis’ first encyclical Laudato Si’, to explore the ecumenical dimension of ecological conversion. These weighty offerings give us all food for thought on the relationship between the church and society. Enjoy.
